Rise Climbing Terms and Conditions
Membership Options
Direct Debit Full Membership
- Billed weekly in advance from your nominated account
- Members may pay monthly, 6-monthly, or yearly for a higher discount respectively
- Membership freezes can be requested via email (minimum 2 weeks, once every 3 months)
- Cancellations allowed after initial 3 months with 2 weeks written notice
- Cancellation requests must be submitted prior to the week’s billing
- Declined payments trigger a membership hold until resolved
- $4.40 dishonour fee may apply for declined payments
- Excludes shoe hire — discounted at advertised price
Prepaid Memberships
- Can be suspended for 2–12 weeks at a time
- Suspensions allowed once every 3 months, not within the first 4 weeks
- Excludes shoe hire — discounted at advertised price
Light Membership
- Limited to 1 entry per week
- Minimum upfront payment of 1 months (calculated as: light weekly rate × 52 ÷ 12)
- Entry passes will accumulate if not used each week. eg. paid for 4 weeks but have not attended. That gives you 4 entry passes.
10 Pass
- Includes 10 entries to use at any time
- Pass holders must check in on every visit
- No expiry
Concession
- Available to full-time students and concession card holders
- 10% off casual day passes and 10-pass purchases only
Full Member Benefits
- Full access to Rise Climbing facilities
- 10% off retail items
- One free entry for a friend per month (non-transferable, cannot be accumulated)
- Additional family members may join at the advertised discounted rate
- Members must check in on every visit
- Membership fees will not be reduced during short periods of closure
- Notice of closure will be via website, social media, and email
- You may cancel your membership if changes to our T&Cs or gym rules adversely affect you
Age Restrictions & Child Supervision
- Minimum age for climbing during open hours is 12 years (unless otherwise specified)
- Climbers under 15 must be supervised by a responsible adult
- Children under 12 who are not climbing must be actively supervised at all times
- Hands-on supervision required — e.g., one adult climbs while the other watches, then swap
- Kids corner available but does not replace active supervision
- Older children may attend with one climbing guardian who is fully responsible for their safety and behaviour
- Guardians must ensure children stay clear of fall zones and do not interfere with other climbers
- Rise Climbing may request changes to supervision arrangements if safety concerns arise
Induction & Waiver
- All members and first-time visitors must complete an induction and sign a waiver
- Waiver includes acknowledgment of risks and personal responsibility
- Entry may be refused if induction or waiver is incomplete
Your Health Obligations
- You must be in good physical health to use Rise Climbing facilities
- Inform us in writing if any activity may pose a health risk
- Notify us if your medical condition changes after joining
- We may refuse or cancel membership if medical clearance is not provided
- Do not use facilities if unwell with a contagious illness
- Inform us of any risk that may affect others; access will be reviewed accordingly
Behaviour & Conduct
- Treat staff and fellow climbers with respect
- Unsafe behaviour, harassment, discrimination, or substance use will not be tolerated
- Rise Climbing may refuse entry or cancel memberships for breaches of conduct
Liability & Risk
- Bouldering involves inherent risks, including injury
- By using our facilities, you accept these risks
- Rise Climbing is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage unless caused by proven negligence
- Members are responsible for their own belongings
Privacy & Data Use
- We collect personal information to manage memberships and services
- Your data is stored securely and not shared without consent
- By joining, you agree to receive communications from Rise Climbing
- You may unsubscribe at any time

Refunds & Transfers
- Memberships and passes are non-refundable, except where required by Australian Consumer Law
- Memberships and passes are non-transferable and may only be used by the registered member, including family members
- Pause and suspension options are available for eligible memberships:
- Direct Debit Full Memberships: freeze for minimum 2 weeks, once every 3 months via the Gym Master app or via staff
- Prepaid Memberships: suspend for 2–12 weeks, once every 3 months, not within first 4 weeks
- Passes (e.g. 10 Pass): cannot be paused or suspended, they have no expiry
- If injured, ill, or facing extended personal circumstances, contact us to discuss suspension or credit options (supporting documentation may be required)
- Refunds will not be issued for change of mind, unused visits, or partial periods
- Direct debit memberships may be cancelled after the initial commitment period with appropriate notice
- Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method and may take up to 10 business days
- Membership fees will not be reduced during short periods of closure

Facility Use & Access
- Follow staff instructions at all times
- Children must be supervised at all times
- Access may be restricted during events, maintenance, or emergencies
- Rise Climbing reserves the right to limit access for safety or operational reasons
Suspension or Termination by Rise Climbing
- We may suspend or terminate memberships for safety violations, misconduct, or breach of terms
- No refund is guaranteed in such cases
Force Majeure
- Rise Climbing is not liable for closure or disruption due to events beyond our control (e.g. natural disasters, pandemics)

Changes to Terms & Conditions
- Rise Climbing may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time
- Changes may include updates to operating hours, pricing, membership options, or facility rules
- We will notify members of significant changes via email, our website, and/or social media
- Continued use of our facilities after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms
