WHAT IS BOULDERING?
Bouldering is climbing with the freedom of no ropes. It is physical problem solving your way up our walls using only one colour of holds.
PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVING
Bouldering is about problem solving, that’s why boulders are also known as problems. Normally this requires a fair amount of failing before unlocking the finish hold! Some of the most rewarding and satisfying climbs will be the ones you have tried multiple times to work out.
ON ARRIVAL
Come in and meet our team. They will take you through everything you need to know including our safety induction. If you are under 18 then a parent or guardian will need to sign you in. Special climbing shoes are needed for our walls and can be hired if you don’t have your own.
Our team will take you through our grading system and where and how to start.
NO ROPES!
Bouldering is done without ropes. Our walls are a max. height of 4.5m and are built over specialised padded matting. We run everyone through a safety induction and show you how to stay within your comfort level and abilities, and how to push them as well. We also provide well placed down climbing holds to help you get down. With no ropes you don’t need to wait for a belay partner. Even if you are solo you can come and join us at any time.
